Where else can I without a legal degree or a medical degree reach down and save a child’s life? Because this is what a Guardian Ad Litem really does.

She is the best mother that I wish I had.
This young girl, was a junior in high school, and had been working so hard to get her grades up, to show that her grandparents were doing a good job and so she could qualify for college.
I end this with the following thought, if it wasn't for these wonderful, dedicated Guardians Ad Litem to represent children that need their voices and needs heard, what would happen with these children?
The nurturing the children received was phenomenal. They went from poor students to honor roll students and from both withdrawn and acting out to well behaved kids.
It took two years, numerous phone calls, and lots of hand-holding before the mother finally agreed to release her daughter for adoption. The mother finally realized that it was in her daughter’s best interest to be with the grandmother. By having her own mother adopt her daughter, she could remain in her daughter's life.
These children were able to grow up on a safe and loving environment thanks to the involvement of this GAL and her passion for these children. We need more GALs just like her!
To best describe what the Guardian ad Litem Program means to me …. IT MEANS A FAMILY
“WHY DO YOU ASK HER FOR MONEY? SHE IS MY GAL AND GIVES HER LIFE TO DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN”
'In one instant, with one phone call, everything in my life changed. I had received a call from my youngest daughter that DCF investigators were at her house and that she needed me to come get my 20 month old granddaughter. Not wanting the baby to go to foster care, I left immediately to get her. '
