How You Can Impact the Lives of Foster Children in Palm Beach County

Make a difference in the life of a foster child with the help of Speak Up For Kids! Even if you don’t feel ready to welcome a foster kid into your home, you can still impact the lives of children in the Florida foster care system. Through volunteering and gift-giving, you can get an inside look at how foster care works and put a smile on the face of a foster child during their birthday.

Speak Up For Kids

Speak Up For Kids represents the only non-profit arm for Palm Beach County’s Guardian ad Litem program. We also head the Foster Palm Beach and STUDENTS Speak Up For Kids programs.

Through community outreach, volunteerism, counseling, and support for foster parents and children, Speak Up For Kids defends the most vulnerable members of our community. And, you can further this aim by sharing our story with the ones you love.

Volunteer

Caring individuals who do not have the resources to take in a foster child can still support kids within the foster care system by volunteering their time and talent. Indeed, volunteerism plays an integral role in maintaining safe, stable environments for foster kids to succeed.

Those interested in volunteering can provide assistance at events, perform administrative work, help with fundraising, and more.

Currently, Speak Up For Kids continues its search for kind volunteers to lend a hand with:

  • Office work

  • Outreach

  • Public speaking

  • Photography

  • Staffing special events

Give a Gift

At Speak Up For Kids, we understand that some individuals do not have the spare time to volunteer. In such cases, we provide an opportunity for community members to become a sponsor, ensuring that each of the 1,600+ children in local foster care gets to celebrate their birthday.

This year, the inaugural Gift-A-Birthday celebration will take place on April 8th at The Lake Pavilion. All proceeds from the event go towards the gifts, decorations, and food necessary to ensure every foster child is celebrated at least once a year. Check out our campaign page and learn more about what we are doing to support foster children in Palm Beach County.

Would you like to help Speak Up For Kids but don’t have the time to volunteer or sponsor us? Consider making a donation to improve the lives of children in the foster care system.
