Karen is 13 years old and has been in and out of foster care since three and is now permanently placed with a new foster family. Even with all the upheaval in her life, Karen has maintained excellent grades, especially in science and mathematics, and wants to attend an after-school science enrichment program with other Science Club members. Normalcy makes a child's life better.
