A Heartwarming Thanksgiving: Community and Students Making a Difference!
The holidays are a time for joy and love, and this Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the incredible impact that comes from our community and student chapters coming together.
Through a heartfelt initiative shared on Facebook, our community united to create 11 Thanksgiving baskets, bringing joy and cherished memories to 11 families and their children. This effort not only made a meaningful difference in their lives but also strengthened the bonds within our community during this season of gratitude.
We extend a special thank-you to two of our Students Speak Up For Kids chapters, whose thoughtful contributions included sugar cookies and Thanksgiving crafts for 18 children. Their kindness and creativity have brought hope and happiness to those who need it most.
“Our mission to replace pain with kindness, sadness with happiness, and silence with voices united to Speak Up is made possible by the compassionate actions of our community and students,” said Coleen LaCosta, our Executive Director.
We also want to recognize our volunteer manager, Pam for coordinating this initiative and Early Childhood Court for ensuring the holiday season is truly unforgettable for foster kids in our community.
