Life Skills Portal:
A Comprehensive Resource for Foster Youth

Today, Speak Up For Kids is proud to announce the launch of a tremendous resource, the Life Skills Portal, a comprehensive resource for foster youth. The portal is designed to provide foster youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed.

The Life Skills Portal was created as a STUDENTS Speak Up For Kids project through the vision of Trish Zenczak, Director of Student Engagement with the help of Marisa Langston, Assistant Director of Student Engagement. The project was led by Cari Cantrell, a Ministry major at Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Alana Ferguson, a Computer Science and Neuroscience major at Princeton University. Cari and Alana, both summer interns at SSUFK, were instrumental in organizing, writing, and setting up the portal.

The Life Skills Portal is a one-stop shop for foster youth as they navigate the aging out process. It includes resources on financial literacy, career exploration, college preparation, and more. Jaisnav Rajesh, a Computer Science and Finance major at Princeton University, contributed to the financial literacy section of the portal. Alayshja Bable, a Public and International Affairs major at Princeton University, provided major help with the video section.

The STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids PBC Life Skills Portal is now live and available to foster youth of all ages. Visit www.studentsspeakupforkidspbc.org/life-skills-portal to explore the portal and get the resources you need to succeed.
