Olympic Heights High School STUDENTS Take Action: Lions Chapter Supports Foster Youth with Stress Relief Project

Why It Matters

Everyone experiences stress, but not every child has access to healthy coping tools or support systems. For youth in foster care, feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and overwhelm can be part of daily life.
This project addressed that gap in a simple but meaningful way. A stress ball may seem small, but it provides:

  • A physical outlet for anxiety

  • A reminder that someone cares

  • A tool for emotional regulation

How to Get Involved: Want to make an impact like the Olympic Heights Lions Chapter?

Here are a few ways students can get involved:

  • Start or join a STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids chapter at your school

  • Organize a virtual community service or in-person project supporting foster youth

  • Create care kits, host drives, or design projects focused on emotional wellness

  • Track your impact and inspire others through student leadership initiatives

If you’re a student looking for high school volunteer opportunities or meaningful community service, this is your chance to step up. Whether it’s one project or a full chapter initiative, your effort can help foster kids feel seen, supported, and valued.

Take action today. Start small. Make it count.
