Spanish River Sharks Make Birthdays Sweeter with Decorate-Your-Own Cookie Kits

Thank you Spanish River Sharks!

A huge shoutout to Sofia Scher and the Spanish River Sharks Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids for making birthdays extra special with a fun and creative twist.

Sofia and her team put together more than 50 birthday bags filled with decorate-your-own cookie kits, featuring over 100 homemade cookies for children in need. These kits didn’t just provide a sweet treat—they gave kids a chance to be creative, have fun, and enjoy a hands-on birthday experience.

Why This Matters

For many children in foster care or facing hardships, birthdays can often go uncelebrated. A simple gesture, like a birthday bag with homemade treats, can bring joy, excitement, and a sense of normalcy to a child’s special day. The effort put into baking and assembling these kits shows how small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact.

How You Can Help

At STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids, we believe that every child deserves to feel celebrated on their birthday. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Bake or donate supplies – Cakes, cookies, and decorations make birthdays special.

  • Help assemble birthday bags – Even small gifts or notes can brighten a child’s day.

  • Start a chapter or volunteer – Join our growing network of student leaders making a difference.

A huge thank you to Sofia and the Spanish River Sharks for spreading kindness and making birthdays a little sweeter.

Share this story to inspire more students to take action and bring joy to children in need.
