Overview
Wouldn't it be amazing if you woke up every morning with an overflow of confidence? How cool would it be to have an unshakeable belief in who you are and what you could achieve? What if you could overcome doubt, move past fear and be the powerful person you seek to be? Well the good news is you can!
So if you’re ready to boost your self-esteem and rev up your confidence, check out these 5 easy steps below. Get ready to alter your perspective, focus on the positive and create a brand new you!
Step One: Set New Goals & Believe You Can Achieve Them
One great way to boost your confidence is to set new goals. When you focus on achieving new things, you feel good about yourself. Try the following:
Make your goals measurable and realistic. It’s one thing to talk about a goal or write it down, but making a plan and being intentional about it is even better.
Be specific and remember, you can set goals for all sorts of things. Maybe you want to make better grades or make healthier choices or limit distractions. Your goal can be whatever is important to you.
The key is consistently taking action to reach your goals and as you do that, your confidence and belief in yourself will soar.
Step Two: Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
It’s so easy to compare yourself to other people but comparisons are a dangerous thing. I’ve fallen into the comparison trap many times and trust me, it hurts your self-esteem versus helping it.
We have to remind ourselves that we are all special and unique. And comparing your situation to the next person’s situation is a waste of time.
Be confident in yourself. Focus on the good things about you.
Instead of focusing on other people’s lives, focus on your own.
Your job is to uplift yourself and search for the beauty, power, and intellect you have inside. You are enough and if you find acceptance with that, you’ll find more confidence and even more joy.
Step Three: Practice Positive Self Talk
Did you know the average person has over 6,000 thoughts a day? Some are good and some, not so much. But keep in mind how you think about yourself impacts every area of your life. One of my favorite quotes from Michelle Obama states, “Believe in self worthiness and encourage others to do the same.”
Be mindful of thoughts or feelings that make you sad, unworthy or down.
Be your own cheerleader. Remind yourself that you are capable and strong enough to handle any adversity that comes your way.
Stay positive and don’t let setbacks break you.
Need help getting started? Include these in your daily routine and watch your confidence, resilience and motivation rise!
Implement These Positive Self Talk Statements Every Day:
I am worthy.
I am capable.
I can do great things.
I believe in myself.
I deserve love.
I am strong.
I am intelligent.
I am kind.
Step Four: Give Yourself Grace
Sometimes we can be super hard on ourselves. But remember, you are not perfect and despite what you may think, you're not supposed to be. We are all human and as humans, we make mistakes. It’s ok. Forgive yourself.
Encourage yourself to be better.
Learn from your mistakes, and move on.
Let go of your past so you can embrace your future.
Choose grace and live each day better than the day before.
Step Five: Leave Your Comfort Zone
Now that you are setting goals, thinking positively and moving in a positive direction, it’s time to use your newfound confidence and do bold new things. And yes, that means stepping out of your comfort zone and living life to the fullest.
Embrace challenges outside your comfort zone & step into unfamiliar situations, so you can push yourself to discover new skills and strengths you didn’t even know you had.
Remember that facing challenges builds resilience and mental toughness.
The more you challenge yourself, the more fearless you become at handling life’s obstacles positively and powerfully.
Final Thoughts
The journey to more confidence is one we all need to take. Believe in yourself and practice these confidence steps daily. With practice and consistency, you will step into a bolder, more confident you. I believe in you. You can do this!
