A Transition of Leadership Rooted in Purpose

Scott Penney

Concetta Theros

At Speak Up for Kids, leadership is not about titles — it’s about heart, commitment, and the unwavering belief that every child in foster care deserves more. At our Gala, we celebrated a meaningful transition as we thanked Scott Penney for his years of humble, steady leadership as Board President and warmly welcome Concetta Theros into the role.

Scott has guided our organization through pivotal growth, always centering the children we serve. His quiet strength and deep compassion have laid a strong foundation — one that has allowed our programs, partnerships, and impact to flourish.

Now, as we look ahead, we do so with confidence. Concetta brings vision, passion, and an unshakable dedication to our mission. As a longtime board member and advocate, she knows this work intimately and leads with both grace and grit.

With Concetta at the helm, we are poised to deepen our impact, broaden our reach, and continue changing lives — one child at a time.

Together, we remain committed to showing up, speaking up, and stepping up — because our kids deserve nothing less.
