Sweet Slime and Storytime Fun: Atlantic Eagles Spark Smiles with Pete the Cat
Led by Cecilia Welter, the Atlantic Eagles Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids brought Pete the Cat to life at Storybook Village with a colorful, hands-on slime-making activity that engaged over 200 children, as seven student volunteers turned reading into a fun, sensory adventure that sparked joy, encouraged literacy, and created meaningful moments of connection for youth in the community.
No-Sew Blankets
The Atlantic Eagles Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids united to create 25 cozy no-sew blankets and thoughtful gift bags specifically for teenagers in foster care. These acts of kindness provide much-needed comfort and encouragement, showing foster teens that they are supported and valued. By empowering students to lead such impactful projects, STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids is helping to break the cycles of abuse and neglect, rewriting the futures of foster children in Palm Beach County. #studentsspeakup #communityservice #fostercare #giftbags
