Cupcakes and Characters Bring Smiles to Storybook Village

Shoutout to Cooper McCauley and the Boca High Bobcats Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids

At this year’s Storybook Village event, Cooper McCauley and the Boca High Bobcats brought joy, imagination, and community connection to more than 200 children through their themed table, Pete the Cupcake Cat. With colorful displays, friendly engagement, and an inviting setup, the team made reading feel fun and welcoming for every child who visited.

Three student volunteers hosted the table, dedicating four hours to creating a meaningful experience for each child. Through their enthusiasm and kindness, they helped build positive memories and sparked curiosity in young readers.

Why This Matters

Storybook Village events offer more than entertainment. They create opportunities for children to connect with stories and feel supported by their community. For foster youth and others who attended, this cheerful experience provided a sense of belonging and encouragement.

Whether through a storybook character or a warm conversation, Cooper and the Boca High Bobcats reminded children that they are seen and valued.
