FAU University STUDENTS Spread Kindness Through Art and Connection
Why It Matters
The FAU Owls Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids, led by Ella James, organized a hands-on community service project focused on encouragement and positivity for foster youth.
During the March 26 project:
Students created painted rocks and friendship bracelets
The initiative focused on spreading kindness and emotional support
Volunteers contributed approximately 5 hours of service
Through creativity and teamwork, students designed items meant to encourage foster youth and remind them that they are supported by their community.
For youth in foster care, small gestures of kindness can have a lasting emotional impact. Personalized and handmade items often provide encouragement, connection, and a reminder that someone cares.
Projects like this also help students build empathy and recognize the importance of emotional support within the foster care community. Through simple but meaningful actions, participants demonstrated how creativity can become a tool for advocacy and encouragement.
