Olympic Heights High School STUDENTS Create 50 “Conversation Hearts” Keychains to Encourage Foster Youth

Why It Matters

For youth in foster care, consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement can make a significant difference, especially during times of hardship.


By creating 50 personalized keychains with encouraging messages, students provided foster youth with daily reminders of support and kindness while building a strong culture of empathy and service within their chapter.

Reese Woods shared that “everyone needs a compliment from time to time,” especially those facing difficult circumstances. One of the most meaningful moments came from watching students dedicate extra time and effort to ensure the project was completed—showing genuine care for the impact they were making.

This project reinforced the idea that small gestures, like a kind word, can have lasting emotional impact.
