The Benjamin School STUDENTS Spread Valentine’s Cheer: Buccaneers Chapter Creates 100 Goodie Bags for Foster Youth

Why It Matters

For children in foster care, small gestures of kindness can have a big impact, especially during holidays that emphasize connection and belonging.

By creating 100 Valentine’s Day goodie bags, students helped foster youth feel remembered, valued, and supported—while also building empathy and awareness among their peers.

Juliette Stampar reflected that the experience motivated her to continue supporting children in the foster care system. One of the most meaningful realizations was how something as simple as a goodie bag could bring a smile to a child’s face and make a lasting difference.

Students also gained a deeper understanding of the realities foster youth face, reinforcing the importance of consistent community support.
